TahoesBest.com Announces Upcoming Events and Concerts to Wrap Up Summer in Lake Tahoe
Grocery stores everywhere around the lake report a shortage of hot dogs and hamburger patties as the end of the summer last minute barbecue frenzy continues! But don’t fret, there are other ways to end the summer with a bang, and upcoming events in Lake Tahoe will have everybody forgetting that summer is coming to an end. TahoesBest.com recommends turning back time at the Gatsby Festival, looking towards the air at the Lake in the Sky Airshow, and rockin’ out with Dickey Betts & Great Southern.
Gatsby Festival
Get out those flapper dresses and join the fun at this free event. August 10-11 brings jugglers, wandering musicians, shopping, a raffle and a vintage car show! The festival goes from 10am to 4pm at the Tallac Historic Site. This event is great for the whole family, and kid will love getting their faces painted. Step back in time to summer in the golden era!
Dickey Betts & Great Southern
Let the good times roll on August 17th at 7:30pm with Dickey Betts & Great Southern. The Allman Brothers founding member and his band are groovin’ their way to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, and will keep concert-goers dancing all night! Listen to this guitar legend wail at this end of the summer treat.
Lake in the Sky Air show
Watch as the vintage planes and jets zip around the sky and zoom past at the Lake in the Sky Air show, taking place August 23-25 at the Lake Tahoe Airport. This is another family friendly and free event, but make sure to bring $10 for parking.
Make sure to come on Friday for the meet and greet and shake hands with Ace “bud” Anderson! Saturday boasts a pancake breakfast surrounded by vintage Warbirds and military aircraft displays, and of course the aerobatic wonders of the show! And bring the kids on Sunday so they can see what it’s like to fly (free for children who sign-up with a parent on Saturday).
