A Decent Spot for a Quick Bite to Eat
The Blue Coyote is good. It’s just a typical bar and grill, but the food is pretty good. I didn’t drink while I was there, but they had some pretty good drink specials. Seems like it might be a lively place at night. I came during lunch though and got the shrimp tacos. They were a temporary special, so I don’t think they’re on the menu all the time, but they were actually really good. The restaurant was reasonably priced, the service was good and the food came rather quickly. It’s not a fancy place by any means, and it’s not really the type of place that I would frequent a lot, but if you’re in the mood for some quick grub (especially after a day on the slopes), this is a good place to hit up.

Where the locals go
Used to have lunch here at least once a week when I worked at Northstar. Now I can only get there on weekends, but the Blue Coyote offers excellent "pub" food, several beers on tap, a full bar, and multiple tv's throughout the restaurant tuned to just about any sports broadcast on earth, even monster-truck foolishness! (The sound is off, though, on almost all of them, so it's not super noisy.) they are located behind the 7-Eleven heading in towards Truckee. Seat yourself, waitstaff will show up quickly. Taco specials are always on the menu, their onion rings are wonderful, various wraps are excellent. Lots of kid-friendly food on the menu, too. When you get sick of paying the prices in the Northstar "village," pop on over to Blue Coyote for a nice meal!
