Visit to Gatekeepers Museum
Very disappointed in the lack of displays regarding the "gatekeepers". I used to live in Tahoe so was anxious to share the history of the gatekeepers and their work with my family and grandchildren. Not only were there no real displays of people or pictures, the personnel were very nice but very uninformed about the history. Your descriptions in travel resources need to be rewritten or at least updated. Also perhaps the personnel could be "trained" or at least given a pamphlet to share with visitors. The baskets were great but that was about the only really interesting exhibit. If you decide to actually do a "gatekeepers" exhibit let me know as I would be glad to donate money. I visited the museum about 12 or 13 years ago and there was a nice exhibit at that time (mostly pictures of gatekeepers of the past.) What happened to it??
