Great Family Restaurant in Incline
Austin's has great home cooking and really friendly staff. My daughter LOVES their "chicken fried" chicken, which comes with perfect mashed potatoes and gravy (Hint: Ask for a little cup of the gravy to dip your Austin Fries in!). I love their trout. It comes headless (yay - can't have my dinner looking at me), seasoned very nicely and pan-fried. They offer about 9 different salads, all dinner-sized, with lots of extra goodies added; "Doug's Favorite" (and mine) includes bacon, bean sprouts, chives, Doritos and either crispy or grilled chicken if you wish. They have several different "sides" to accompany your meal, like brocolli, green beans, mac 'n cheese, but be sure at least one person in your group orders the Austin Fries with jalapeno dipping sauce. YUM! Austsin's is located just across the street from the Hyatt, which is very convenient if you're staying there. Service can be a bit slow if they're really slammed, but order a Cosmo, chill out and enjoy where you're at - it's Tahoe, after all!
