Modern Luxury Meets Traditional Mountain Hotel
Traditional cabin meets modern luxury is the way I would describe The Cedar House Sport Hotel. On the outside, it has a rugged mountain feel, but on the inside it’s very modern and luxurious. Kind of reminds me of Ikea style decor. But the hotel is just luxury all the way. The architecture is really cool and pictures just don’t do it justice.
They offer a free full breakfast for two. The hotel has a full bar and during the summer it opens up to an outdoor patio. There’s even complimentary appetizers at 4:30! There’s also an excellent restaurant called Stella that is highly recommended. It’s expensive, but it has fabulous food. I hear the restaurant even grows some of the products they use at the hotel, which I think is really cool. They typically book up every night, so it’s good to call for reservations first.
And the hotel is even dog friendly! So if you have a dog, bring it along. They’ll have dog treats waiting for you in your room!
If you’re into skiing, Northstar is just a hop, skip and a jump from the Cedar House. They also encourage tours. They have a bunch of different guided tours you can take from the hotel that go to all different locations with different skill levels.
So I’d definitely recommend the Cedar House. It’s a very sophisticated hotel that still gives you that mountain type atmosphere that you go to Lake Tahoe for.
