The Mountain Bike Park is open - daily
from June 17 - September 4 & weekends (Friday - Sunday) only from September
8 - October 15. (weather permitting)
The Mountain Adventure Shop conveniently located in Northstar's Village, the
Mountain Adventure Shop offers mountain bike rentals, clothing and accessories, maps of
Northstar's mountain bike park, minor bike maintenance and repairs, transport lift rides
for bicyclists and hikers and guided nature hikes.

Mountain Bike Rentals : State-of-the art "Giant"
full-suspension cross-country mountain bikes with disc brakes. Free souvenir water bottle and free use of helmet and gloves are
included with bike rentals. Helmets are required at Northstar's Mountain Bike Park.

Biking Trails (Sample Rides)
Picnic in the Meadow : Sawmill Flat, with its view of the Northstar Reservoir
and surrounding mountains, is the perfect destination for a leisurely family outing. With
this fun, introductory ride you can get used to the altitude and introduce yourself to
Northstar's Mountain Bike Park.
- Round Trip - 3.0 miles
- Elevation Gain - 200 feet
- Directions:
- From the top of Echo Lift take the 501 to the 500 road.
- Turn right on the 500 road and immediately left onto the Sawmill Flat trail.
- Follow the Sawmill Flat trail until you come to the caboose. You'll find a nice picnic
site between the caboose and the Reservoir, a little to the right.
- Follow the same route back to the top of Echo Lift.
- Return to the Village via Forest trail and Village Run (1¼ miles).
Secluded Mountain Lake: Located on Tahoe National Forest lands, Watson Lake is a
quaint natural body of water complete with an abundance of trout and frogs. The lakeshore
is a great spot for a picnic. This route also takes you by beautiful wildflower habitats
and some of the area's oldest trees, the majestic California Junipers.
- Round Trip - 9.2 miles
- Elevation Gain - 890 feet
- Directions:
- From the top of Lookout lift take the 507 road to the 500 road. Turn right, follow the
500 road across the "backside" of Mt. Pluto to the junction of the Fiberboard
Freeway (100 yards), turn right.
- Watson Lake road (114 road) is two tenths of a mile further on your left. Turn left at
the 114 road, travel a little over a half mile to Watson Lake.
- When you're ready go, take the 114 road back to the Fiberboard Freeway (100 road). Turn
right up a short hill, take the long (3.4 miles), scenic descent down to the 300 road.
- Turn left, follow the 300 road to Meadow trail past the Caboose and Reservoir to Sawmill
Flat trail.
- Follow Sawmill Flat trail to the 500/501 junction and turn left onto the 501 road.
- From the top of Echo lift, return to the Village via Forest trail and Village Run (1¼
miles).
Dirt Camp. A two-day instructional mountain bike
camp which teaches everything from basic riding skills for beginners to advanced
techniques for experienced riders. World-class professional mountain bike racers
teach participants utilizing elite-level coaching and training methods. Call
